Overview

Dopafence is an offline, distraction-blocking application for Android. It helps you set scheduled Access Windows for distracting apps, and protects your attention outside those windows.

Dopafence operates entirely on your device. It does not use remote servers, does not require an account, and does not collect or transmit personal information.

02

Core Privacy Principles

  • No account, sign-in, or registration is required.
  • No personal data is sent off your device.
  • No analytics or crash-reporting services are used.
  • No advertising SDKs or tracking libraries are included.
  • Dopafence does not request internet access and makes no network connections.
03

Information Accessed on Your Device

To provide app protection, Dopafence accesses specific system information locally:

Active Apps (Accessibility Service)

  • What is accessed: The package name of the app currently running in the foreground.
  • Why: To check if the opened app is on your list of protected apps outside your scheduled Access Windows.
  • Storage and transmission: This information is evaluated in volatile memory only. It is never saved to disk and Dopafence does not transmit this information to a server.
  • What is NOT accessed: Dopafence does not read, collect, or monitor personal messages, chats, passwords, keystrokes, form fields, or on-screen content.
04

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

All data created in Dopafence is saved exclusively in your device's private app storage (Android Jetpack DataStore). This data includes:

Stored Data Purpose
Scheduled Access Windows Start and end times for your daily allowed focus windows
Protected Apps List The list of app package names you selected for protection
Protection Toggle State Whether master protection is active or paused
Focus Streak Count The number of consecutive days you maintained your focus boundary
Temporary Unlock Expiration The timestamp when a mindful pass expires
Mindful Unlock History Local timestamps and durations of mindful passes you used
App Preferences Your selected theme (light, dark, or system) and timer settings

This information remains strictly on your device and is never synced to a remote server or third party.

05

Notifications

Dopafence requests the android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission solely to deliver local, on-device notifications:

  • Alerting you when a mindful focus timer or Strict Mode session is active.
  • Notifying you prior to Strict Mode expiration.
  • Notifications are generated entirely on-device and contain no personal tracking information.
06

Accessibility Service Prominent Disclosure & Consent

Dopafence uses Android's AccessibilityService API solely to provide its core distraction-blocking functionality:

  • Prominent In-App Disclosure: Before you are redirected to system settings to enable Accessibility, Dopafence displays a prominent in-app disclosure detailing what data is accessed (the active foreground application package name) and its exclusive purpose (enforcing scheduled Access Windows).
  • Voluntary Affirmative Consent: You must provide affirmative consent (“I Agree & Continue”) before system settings are opened. You can also decline (“Not Now”) and can disable the Accessibility Service at any time via Android Settings.
  • Privacy Guarantee: The service does not read, collect, record, or transmit personal messages, chats, passwords, form entries, keystrokes, or screen contents.
  • On-Device Processing: Dopafence processes this information exclusively on your device and does not transmit it to a server.
07

Network and Internet Access

Dopafence does not declare the android.permission.INTERNET permission in its application manifest. The application does not connect to the internet, make HTTP requests, or communicate with remote servers.

08

Third-Party Libraries and SDKs

Dopafence does not include advertising SDKs, analytics frameworks, social network plugins, or tracking tools.

09

Data Retention and Deletion

Dopafence stores all data locally in your device's private app storage. Because no data is ever transmitted to a server, server-side data retention and deletion do not apply.

You have full control over your local data:

  • In-app deletion and reset: You can remove protected apps, modify your Access Windows, or reset your mindful unlock history at any time directly within the app settings.
  • Clearing app storage: Clearing Dopafence app storage or data in Android Settings immediately and permanently deletes all stored preferences, schedules, and unlock records from your device.
  • Uninstalling the application: Uninstalling Dopafence permanently removes the application and all associated local data from your device.
10

Children's Privacy

Dopafence is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be published with an updated effective date. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically for any changes
