PassMancer is an offline password generator and strength analyzer created by Pralhad Nasane.
Your privacy is fundamental to the app's design. This Privacy Policy explains how PassMancer operates with a strict zero-data-collection architecture.
By using PassMancer, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. What PassMancer Does
PassMancer helps you:
- Generate strong, random passwords on your device.
- Analyze the strength and entropy of passwords.
- Estimate password cracking times using local mathematical formulas.
- Temporarily store password history on your device (optional).
All features run entirely on your phone.
2. Information PassMancer Collects
PassMancer collects zero personal data.
- No Accounts: You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide an email address.
- No Personal Information: The app does not ask for or collect your name, phone number, contacts, location, or device identifiers.
- No Analytics: The app does not track what you click, how often you use the app, or what features you use.
- No Crash Reports: The app does not send error logs or crash reports over the internet.
- No Advertising: The app contains no ads, ad trackers, or advertising SDKs.
3. Internet and Network Access
PassMancer does not request the Android INTERNET permission and does not use network connections.
- The app cannot connect to the internet.
- The app cannot send data to any server, third party, or cloud service.
- The app cannot receive data from the internet.
- All calculations and password generation happen 100% offline on your device.
4. On-Device Data Storage
PassMancer may store small amounts of data locally on your device to make the app work properly:
-
App Preferences:
- Your selected password generation settings (such as length, character sets).
- Your chosen app theme (system default, light mode, or dark mode).
-
Password History (if enabled):
- PassMancer includes an optional password history feature so you can find previously generated passwords.
- History entries are stored securely on your device using Android's encrypted storage (such as EncryptedSharedPreferences / Jetpack Security).
- History data never leaves your device.
- You can clear your history at any time from the app's settings or history screen.
This data is private to your device and is not accessible to other apps.
5. Device Permissions
PassMancer uses minimal device permissions. It requests only permissions strictly necessary for its features:
- Vibration / Haptic Feedback (optional): Used to provide subtle vibration when generating passwords or tapping buttons.
- Clipboard Access: When you tap "Copy," the app writes the generated password to your system clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere. The app does not read your clipboard content.
PassMancer does not request sensitive permissions such as:
- Location
- Camera
- Microphone
- Contacts
- Storage / Media (Photos, Files)
- Phone State or Phone Number
6. Clipboard Data Notice
When you copy a password in PassMancer, it is placed in your device's clipboard. Please be aware that:
- Other apps on your device with clipboard access may be able to read what you copied.
- On Android 13 and higher, the system clipboard clears automatically after a short time.
- On older Android versions, clipboard data may persist until overwritten.
- We recommend pasting your password promptly and using Android's clipboard management features where available.
7. Third-Party Services and SDKs
PassMancer contains no third-party SDKs, libraries, or services that collect data.
- No Google Firebase, Google Analytics, or Crashlytics.
- No advertising networks (such as Google AdMob, Unity Ads, etc.).
- No social media SDKs (such as Facebook, Twitter / X, etc.).
- No tracking pixels, beacons, or telemetry.
The app uses only standard Android framework libraries and open-source Jetpack components provided by Google for UI rendering and on-device logic.
8. Google Play Services
When you download PassMancer from the Google Play Store, Google may collect basic technical information as part of its standard app distribution platform (such as your device model, OS version, and install timestamp). This collection is governed entirely by Google's Privacy Policy, not by PassMancer.
The developer does not have access to any identifiable user data from Google Play.
9. Security of Your Data
Because PassMancer operates 100% offline and collects no data:
- There are no servers to breach.
- There are no cloud databases that could expose your passwords.
- Your data stays exclusively on your physical device.
If you choose to use the optional password history feature, entries are stored using Android's standard cryptographic security mechanisms.
To maximize your security, we recommend keeping your device updated with the latest Android security patches and using a strong screen lock (PIN, password, or biometrics).
10. Children's Privacy
PassMancer does not collect, store, or process personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The app is completely safe for all audiences because no data collection exists within the app.
11. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Global Regulations)
Because PassMancer collects zero personal data, there is no personal data to:
- Access
- Rectify (correct)
- Port (export)
- Sell or share
- Delete from a server
You have complete control over all data stored locally on your device at all times.
12. How to Delete Your Data
You can delete all local data created by PassMancer at any time by:
- Clearing password history directly within the app's settings.
- Clearing app data via Android Settings: Settings > Apps > PassMancer > Storage > Clear Data.
- Uninstalling the app from your device, which automatically removes all locally stored preferences and history.
13. Open Source and Transparency
PassMancer is built by an independent developer who values privacy and transparency. The app's architecture is deliberately minimal so that you can verify its offline-only behavior through Android's standard permission manager.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
If PassMancer's privacy practices change, this policy will be updated with a new effective date. The latest policy is always available inside the app and on the public Privacy Policy page.
15. Contact Information
